Mommy's back to work

27 December 2009

After a two week leave for the holidays, Mommy's back to work. She greeted me with her usual 'Good Morning Booboot' this morning. She insists to let me know that despite not feeling well (a bit of my doing, fine, my doing) she has to get up and get to work and not complain. Foundations of a good and healthy discipline. Start em young I believe.

Mommy stopped driving eversince she found out about me. Driving makes her dizzy or maybe sometimes she admits she's just plain lazy =) She takes a cab to and from work these days.

One major hiccup with cabs is the drivers are most often than not reckless (apart from the most obvious that majority of them stink: okay, not to be so blunt, a handful of them do not smell so well). The driver this morning was driving so fast, and rarely stopping on a hump and a bump, Mommy had to declare out loud that she was pregnant to make him drive a bit more carefully. Which always works. Magically.

Lunch again was a bit of a dance, Mommy brought her bland green salad to avoid the toilet... thank goodness I cooperated all the way to dinner. Wagamama Vegetable Udon Soup. As Mommy apart from eating blandly, needs to eat sparingly, she shared her soup with my future Godmother. Despite the sharing, they still could not finish the serving. Man, those things are massive, massive. Filling indeed.

Well, tomorrow is another day of opening and answering Mom's more than 400 e-mails! She's thinking she was only gone for 2 weeks, how many mails will she receive when she goes on leave for 2 months for my arrival.

Can't wait to see Mommy, soon, very soon =)

The Day After My First Christmas

26 December 2009

The day started quite nicely with Mommy having breakfast early morning. Daddy slept later than usual as he was very tired from driving yesterday... more than 250 KM!!! And to think he does this everyday. My poor Daddy...

Lunch went downhill for Mommy... she prepared green salad, following her midwife's instruction to keep to light and bland meals: lettuce, boiled potatoes, boiled corn, red globe grapes, carrots with apple cider vinegar. She managed to eat all the above all right, but for how long she had it was the question... hello, toilet. She's more concerned that I'm not getting enough nutrients than her constant puking. My poor Mommy...

Mommy and Daddy decided to go for a treat today, seeming they were both feeling not so good... Mommy's going for a pregnancy massage and Daddy for a European massage =)

Maria, Mommy's masseuse is from India (nice lady). She really takes good care of Mommy when she goes to their special clinic. Maria prepares a concoction of oils and uses this on Mommy. She starts with massaging her hair and then her back, arms and legs. Now, one thing to note with a pregnancy massage is instead of lying on her back, Mommy has to be on her side as I'm on the other side, hihi... She thought the first time she had her massage it would be uncomfortable, but it turned out okay. The massage place was recommended by her doctor. Her doctor goes there too. Mommy actually asked if her doctor was also pregnant only to be told that goodness no as she's more than 50!

Apparently, 100% of the pregnant women who's gone for a pregnancy massage at their clinic all turned out to have normal births =) Mommy's looking forward to having me normally as well. Right now she only goes every other week. I think starting next year, she might go every week.

Massage makes me ticklish =) But I like it like Mommy does. Makes me sleepy too...

yawnnn ...

My First Christmas

25 December 2009

My first Christmas. Wow.

My age: Zero. Hmm actually, I'm now 28 weeks. But technically, 29 weeks inside Mommy's tummy. I still can't understand how that works but the doctor insists it's counted a week less ...

My name: Still undecided.
Mommy secretly calls me her little Bambino, all though that's really redundant but no worries, whatever makes her happy is fine with me =)

We had a long and full day today ... Mommy's struggling to keep her eyes open. But she's been meaning to start a blog for me and promised to do so no later than today. My diary in written word begins today.

Tomorrow, the rest of my story unfolds ... tandandandan =)
